Project background:

This all about me building from the ground up, a real RobCo Terminal as seen in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. This project involves basic metal work, computer hardware knowledge, .bat code knowledge, airbrushing, and maybe more!

Main goal: Make a terminal like in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but give it a current feel.

Bonus: Would like to have an internal or external back up battery that could last about 5-10 minutes.

Solved the batery issue.

Found one of the those surge protectors with a back-up battery inside. Should do nicely for now.

Day 3. Parts

Getting some steel and an LCD monitor today. I plan to hook up the LCD after I make the frame. Can't decide if there should be a small rack for SCSI drives or not in there. I have a card that lets you plug in exteral and interal SCSIs...

Things I need:
A red button (with and LED)
Various Paints.
Possibly a different graphics card.

Day 2. CD ROM

Made a custom mount for the CD ROM. Should fit right under the screen. First CD ROM I tried had a broken motor. Would't open or close half the time. I could here it try to open. Maybe a little gear was broken. Not worth the time to fix so i trashed it. Next I need to add the front Firewire and USB. Plan to have a front Audio out and Mic in. Still haven't decide if I'm going to put some kind of no slide rubber on the bottom or not... WE shall see when the time comes i suppose.

Day 1. Software

As many will tell you. The terminals in Fallout 3 and New Vegas have a special OS. Called: Unified Operating System. I'm using a .bat file to simulate this. However, I have to you set /p which isn't as accurate to the game as I'd like... When my project is done I might post a .exe version of this simulation. I've got the .bat file nearly done. just trying to give it some character.

Day 1.

The guts of the Terminal a half done. AMD board and half a gig of RAM. 20 gig HD.
